Fact in Theravada Buddhism's case.

Multiple owners testified in court that they donated the land to Venerable Phrarajbhavanavisudh, Abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, personally because they believed in the virtue and good intentions of the Abbot to put the land into good use.  Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh then transferred ownerships of the land to Wat Phra Dhammakaya.  Subsequently, the Attorney General found no wrongdoing on the part of the Abbot, and asked the judge to dismiss the case.  The Court approved the request and dismissed the case.  There has been no appeal for the case since 2006.  The case has been concluded for nine years and cannot be retroactively reinstated, according to Article 36 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Presently, there may be a growing misunderstanding about Wat Phra Dhammakaya’s involvement in the Khlongchand Credit Union Embezzlement Case. We would like to take a moment to provide everyone with the facts surround this case.
Khlongchand Credit Union Case
Mr. Supachai Srisup-aksorn, former chairman of Khlongchan Credit Union, made monetary donations to Wat Phra Dhammakaya. Later, Khlongchan Credit Union filed a claim accusing Mr. Supachai of embezzling over Bt10,000 million from the Credit Union and a portion of that money had been used to make donations to Ven. Phrarajbhavanvisudh and Wat Phra Dhammakaya.
Most charitable organizations rely on monetary donations from the public for their existence. It is inappropriate to question donors as to where the money for their donations came from. Wat Phra Dhammakaya received the donations from Mr. Supachai in good faith just as it did with any other donor. Although the donations from Mr. Supachai were substantial, there were in fact, many other donors who had donated greater sums.
Donations received by Wat Phra Dhammakaya are used in accordance with the wishes of donors. In the case of Mr. Supachai, his donations have been used to construct religious buildings and facilities for the benefit of the general public. When it became known to Wat Phra Dhammakaya that Mr. Supachai’s donations had been derived from funds belonging to Khlongchan Credit Union, followers of Wat Phra Dhammakaya got together and raised enough funds to compensate members of the Credit Union who have been affected by Mr. Supachai’s action. To date, Wat Phra Dhammakaya has already paid the Credit Union Baht 684,780,000, the full amount of money in dispute.  Khlongchan Credit was satisfied with the outcome and issued a letter of appreciation to Wat Phra Dhammakaya. It also withdrew all complaints against Wat Phra Dhammakaya.
